The great thing about this film was that we did not have a big budget but there was only the need to design one room where the whole story takes place. This allowed me to pay attention to the smallest details. I was giving the freedom to find the name of the hotel: "Saudade" which means missing something that is gone or that you know it cannot longer exist. I had to design the logo of the hotel, embroider it into the dressing gown and take care of all the small details that hotels usually have, like thank you notes or tiny shampoo bottles with the logo.

Each act of the film is represented by a specific flower which I chose based on its meaning according to various cultures.

The biggest challenge was designing a love motel based in the U.K. where there's not many of them. That's why Japanese Love Motels were my biggest inspiration.
