SERUM

Directed by Rowyn Mottershead

Art Co-Direction

with Aimee Mulligan and Steff Spencer

June 2015

Two scientists in a post-apocalyptic world try to develop a serum to revive nature in order to save humanity.

The biggest challenge of this project was building the set with a very very small budget, with old flats we used as walls and only having a couple of hours.

We had to create a post-apocalyptic world, life had stopped ten years earlier, no technology was created, the furniture had to be old but modern, a somewhat dilapidated lab.

The protagonists had to be creative with the way they were growing plants, which meant we had to be the ones looking for different ways they could use with the utensils they had. This is why we had plants growing on lightbulbs or test tubes.

Part of my work was also growing the plants and finding a way to keep them alive in a dark studio with very hot lighting for 30 hours.
