In a seaside town, an autistic teenage girl and her father struggle to overcome her obsessions in order to bond with each other. Maisie finds an old tin box. Inside the box is a digital clock, which ticks down from around 34 hours. Because this is an object that she doesn’t understand its purpose, she turns all her obsessive behavior into understanding why this clock is ticking down and how to stop it.

Maisie's Tide is the film I've enjoyed designing the most, getting to know the character in order to design the room as an extension of her personality was the most exciting part of it.
I had to spend many hours understanding Maisie and finding studies about how interior decoration, colors and light affected children with autism. Designing her shell collection, and showing how she would display it in her room was amazing. .
Designing her clothes was also very interesting, I wanted to show how she stood out, her clothes had to be different showing she did not care about what other people thought.
I also had to design the watch that Maisie finds in the beach, a 36 hour pocket watch. With the help of Kieran Scott, product designer, we managed to tear the watch apart without stopping it from working, which gave us complete freedom on the design of it.
